Professor Mary Celeste Kearney is an Associate Professor of Film, Television, and Theatre and Concurrent Faculty in Gender Studies at the University of Notre Dame. She is the author of Girls Make Media (Routledge, 2006) and editor of Mediated Girlhoods: New Explorations of Girls’ Media Culture (Peter Lang, 2011 & 2018, with Morgan Blue). She is working on a book about the origins of teen-girl media and is co-founder of Girls Rock Michiana, a program that inspires girls’ creativity, collaboration, and confidence through music education.
