Sara Casoli is junior assistant professor (fixed term) at the University of Florence. She earned her Ph.D. in 2019 at the University of Bologna, where she was part of the “DETECt – Detecting Transcultural Identity in European Popular Crime Narratives” research project. Her prevailing research interests concern popular seriality, television studies, transmedia characters and popular culture. She has published a monograph titled Le forme del personaggio. Figure dell’immaginario nella serialità televisiva americana contemporanea (Mimesis 2021) and several articles for international peer-reviewed journals like Fata Morgana, Imago, Spiel–Eine Zeitschrift zur Medienkultur, E/C, Cinéma&Cie and chapters in edited collections.
