Camilla Pasqua holds a degree in Literature and Philosophy (dissertation in History of Medieval and Modern Art, titled The Bolognese miniature of the XIII century: a hypothesis for the drôleries, 1988) and in Cultural Heritage Studies (dissertation in Cinema History and Criticism, titled Melodramatic imagination in the cinema of Wong Kar-Wai, 2008). She reordered the parish archive of Visco (Udine) on assignment of Regional Directorate of Education and Culture of the Friuli Venezia Giulia (1990-91). From 2000 to 2006, she worked as an Italian language lecturer at the Vysoká Škola Ekonomická – Department of Romance Languages in Prague, where she has contributed to the co-organisation of the meeting Sectoral languages and the European integration process and of several Weeks of the Italian language in the world (initiatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
During the Academic Year 2017/18, she attended the “Advanced course on gender violence and feminicide: prevention, contrast and victim support” at the University of Trieste – Life sciences Department.
Until 2022, she taught Literary Subjects and Latin in high school, where she was involved also in many projects tackling racism and discrimination against migrants, homophobic bullying and violence against women. She also took care of the re-organization and enhancement of the historical Library Claudio Viola in the Scientific high school Guglielmo Oberdan in Trieste. At the same school she coordinated the Project A girl’s eye view, 2021/22.
Currently, she is a PhD student in History and Cultures of Europe at the History, Anthropology, Religions, Art and Entertainment Department of the Sapienza University in Rome. Her research project focuses on the Italian novel of the first two decades of the 21st century, written by female authors. Exploring the persistences and the innovations in female adolescents representation, the research aims to the study of literature in a gender-oriented optics.
