Silvia Angeli (PhD, FHEA) is a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster. Her research focuses on Italian cinema, film-philosophy, the relationship between film and religion, and the portrayal of female adolescence in film. She is especially interested in how adolescents relate to (and resist) institutional power.
She has published peer-reviewed articles on the work of European and North American filmmakers, including Kenneth Lonergan, Sarah Polley, Marco Bellocchio, and Liliana Cavani, and is currently working on a monograph on Alice Rohrwacher. She has served as creative consultant on Terrence Malick’s forthcoming The Way of the Wind
